by: Lucinda Thomas
Teachers join online communities to continue maturing their professional practices
Information aggregation allows teachers to stay up to date and gain relevant information
Types of PLN
*Social Media Connection is the use of media such as facebook, twitter, skype etc. to keep connected. Teachers have to be able to manage feeds.
*Classroom 2.0 offers weakly live webcast.
*Educator's PLN largest groups are Edchat and edtech. Educator's PLN features member post.
*Edmodo is a social media like facebook. Teachers can create groups for their class with a code to allow students access to assignment, test etc.
How did you feel about what you read? Talk about how you think you can use what you learned.
PLN opens doors for teachers to expand how and where they get their information to better accommodate their students in their learning.
But with the growing availability of different PLNs, Teachers has to find ways to sift through the right PLN to site them specifically.
What questions are you left with? Think about practical considerations for implementing changes.
